Varun Dhawan’s last film Coolie No.1 couldn’t see a theatrical release due to the pandemic (instead, had an OTT release); which was really disappointing because I would have loved to see him on the 70mm considering it was such an epic remake of a massy film. What I love about Varun is how he maintains the balance between mass entertainers and niche films and the audience has seen the latter with films like October and Badlapur. Now that the actor has an interesting line-up of movies ahead, I’m quite intrigued.
As per recent reports, the actor will next be seen with Jahnvi Kapoor in Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari’s next. The latest update on this front is that the film will go on floors in April 2022. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film will be shot in multiple locations in a start-to-finish schedule from April onwards. Interestingly, this one will be backed by Sajid Nadiadwala who will team up with VD again post Judwaa 2. While VD and Sajid have already showcased their magic before, I’m looking forward to seeing the fresh pairing of Varun-Jahnvi.
Apart from this project, Varun’s other projects include, Dharma Productions’ Jug Jug Jiyo alongside Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor which is helmed by Good Newwz director Raj Mehta and Dinesh Vijan’s Bhediya. The movie buff in me just cannot wait for all these movies!
