Just when I thought that things will be back on track when Sooryavanshi was released, Omicron has played a spoilsport with several film releases and shoots being postponed. I’m slightly disappointed and surely you would be too, on finding out that several biggies have decided to postpone their shoots, considering that the health and safety of the film’s crew remains a top priority.

As reported by Indian Express, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 directed by Maneesh Sharma, was to have an important 15-day schedule in Delhi in January but it’s been cancelled for now. A source added that as of now, being cautious and sensitive is important since the threat of Omicron is real. A few days back, we also reported that the shoot of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Pathan has been pushed. Other big films which have decided to stall the shoot are Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Vijay Deverakonda & Ananya Panday starrer Liger. Ranveer and Alia were meant to shoot a song for their film with many dancers but it doesn’t seem to be happening for now.

Deverakonda also posted a picture on his gram, where we see him relaxing while he said that shoots are being canceled.

The production of Liger was also affected in March 2020 due to Covid. Apart from that, a song sequence in Katrina, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ishan Khatter starrer Phone Booth has also reportedly cancelled for now. But I hear that some shoots are on-track with immense precautions and safety measures. For example, Ramesh Taurani’s film Merry Christmas with Katrina directed by Sriram Raghavan will continue its shoot.

Phewww! Now it’s no longer a surprise to hear of releases and shoots being put to a temporary halt due to Covid but what I do hope is for a day of surprise when there are announcements of films releasing again. Let’s stock up our patience and wait for it:)
