Taapsee Pannu has been the face of revolutionary cinema for a while, and her recent film choices have been unique and diverse to say the least. Whereas Tahir Raj Bhasin brings a charm to all his characters that no matter if he is the antagonist or protagonist, I can’t help but fall in love with him. So, as soon as it was announced that these two talents were coming together for the comedy thriller Looop Lapeta, I was sure that I was in for something special. The trailer of the film has been released today, and I have to say it lives up to the promise. But before I talk more, let’s take a look at it.

Check out the trailer of Looop Lapeta here:

Looop Lapeta features Taapsee as Savi and Tahir as Satya, who are in a relationship, and the trailer took me on an adventurous journey of Savi trying to save Satya, as he is stuck in a tricky situation due to his addiction to gambling. It’s a race against time for Savi to save her boyfriend and I have to say that both Taapsee and Tahir suit their characters to the T. While Tahir’s portrayal of a confused and frustrated man, stuck in a complex web is delightful to see, it’s Taapsee who steals the show for me with her snippy and quirky stance. This is something really different from the kind of roles the actress has been doing thus far and I am sure it will be an amazing experience to see her bring this character to life on screen.

Talking about Savi, Taapsee says,

“Looop Lapeta is a film that will always be very close to my heart. I fell in love with the characters and the story the moment I read the script! The film is about the choices that Savi makes and how her decisions carve out her journey with the one she loves. A perfect combination of comedy and thriller, Looop Lapeta will keep you at the edge of your seat, while you rejoice at the comical situation that Savi and Satya have gotten into. Can’t wait to bring this to audiences worldwide on Netflix!”

Her co-star Tahir, resonates the feeling, sharing,

“I am so excited to have my second project release with Netflix within a span of a month and to now begin the adrenaline rush of Satya and Savi’s rollercoaster ride against time. Their electric chemistry will make you laugh, cry and leave you on the edge through the consequences of the couple’s wild choices.”

Director Aakash Bhatia is a happy man, as he says,

“I am enthralled to share a peek into the world of Looop Lapeta. I’m hoping that this makes for a thrilling and enjoyable ride for the viewers. My approach has been to experiment with form and style while navigating through this time twisting journey, and also to tightly hold on to the emotional core of our story and characters. Taapsee and Tahir lead an ensemble of fantastic performers in our show of sound and visuals.”

Looop Lapeta is an adaptation of Tom Tykwer‘s 1998 cult classic Run Lola Run and it marks Aakash’s directorial debut. It is produced by Sony Pictures Films India and Ellipsis Entertainment along with Aayush Maheshwari, and is going to start streaming on Netflix from February 4, 2022.

I always get a vibe from any project after I see its trailer, and the ones I am getting from Looop Lapeta are crazy positive. I have always loved such thrillers that are set in chaos, thus I am certain that Taapsee and Tahir’s race against time will take me on an adventure that will be an experience of a lifetime.
