Actor Zain Imam has delivered many impactful performances in popular TV shows and while his act in Naamkarann has been my favorite to date looks like it will soon get replaced with Agastya from Fanaa Ishq Mein Marjawan. Yes, that is Zain’s upcoming show, and seeing its promos only left me mind blown with the scale this show has been made on. But do you know this upcoming drama is not like the quintessential ones, it is different in more than just one way.

Now as this show gears to air on Colors TV from Monday, 31st January, 10:30 pm, I got into a conversation with Zain about his character, career, social media game, and lots more.

On Fanaa Ishq Main Marjawan
I am not taking it as the third season of Ishq Mein Marjawan, it’s got a completely new plot, and nothing is connected. With all the fresh faces, you would actually vouch for what’s coming. The promos look very grand, we have spent a lot on this show.
On his character
My character Agastya is very suave, he is a businessman who can buy anything he wants. He is very charming, he can do anything for what he wants. He loves this girl called Paakhi, and can to any extent for the love of his life. It’s a finite show which is why I am doing one. Had been an infinite show with no clue about the story, I wouldn’t have signed it. Here the storyline is clear and that made me sign the contract.
On the finite series format of the show
It is and this is what I wanted to do. I was on a self-imposed break from TV and when this came my way, I asked them if it was like a typical TV show that will be dragged. They told me the story was written from start to end and I got the narration after which we started shooting immediately.
On his social media game
Yes, social media has become really big in the last 2 to 3 years when the pandemic hit us. As an actor, there is a saying dikhta nahi hai toh bikta nahi hai, I go by that fact. It is very true. So you have to maintain your sanity as an actor while making the kind of reels that I did. I wasn’t doing it for myself, but to entertain my audience. I was all out there for my fans.
One quality of Agastya that made him say yes
It was his mind, it’s very twisted. This guy can flip in a second and he can go mad, you wouldn’t know what triggers him. It was something I hadn’t done before. It is quite impactful.
Like social media, I am sure that Zain is going to win hearts with this one.
