I have grown up in the ’90s watching Kajol on the big screen while being mesmerised by her charm and awed by her talent. The actress has been a force ever since her debut in Bekhudi, and over the years she has given some amazing blockbusters. She is one of the first actresses who showed that even after returning from a sabbatical, her talent and popularity never suffered, and now she is joining hands with another powerful and inspiring woman, Revathy, for their next.
Taking to social media, Kajol shared a picture of her with the actor turned filmmaker Revathy, as they began work on the first schedule of their next together, titled Salaam Venky.
Kajol wrote,
“Today we begin the journey of a story that needed to be told, a path that had to be taken and a life that had to be celebrated. We can’t wait to share this unbelievably true story of #SalaamVenky with you.”
Salaam Venky is inspired by a true story and real characters. It showcases a tale of a praiseworthy mother, who battled the most difficult circumstances. While Kajol plays the lead in the film, Revathy is helming it. It is produced by Suuraj Sinngh, Shraddha Agrawal and Varsha Kukreja under Blive Productions and Take 23 Studios.
While other details of the film are still under wraps, just the association of Kajol and Revathy together has made this project a must-watch for me. These two are legends of their craft and them coming together surely assures a masterpiece at hand. I am certain that this will be a story for the ages that will touch my heart and soul.
