Being a ’90s kid, I have witnessed the journey of cable television in our lives, from its arrival to it eventually becoming an irreplaceable part of it. Some of the fondest memories of my childhood are of me and my family sitting in front of the TV and discussing the shows running in front of us. Even today, amidst all the hustle-bustle of the corporate life, when I sit at dinner with my parents, we have to watch the show coming on TV and discuss it like there is no fourth wall between us and the story on screen. And that happens only at night when the whole family gets together after a hard day of work, which is why it is called the prime time slot. And with its new line up, Colors TV has just strengthened its hold over this aspired period of 10-11 pm every night.

The channel has always had a strong hold over the prime time with shows like Bigg Boss, but come February 14 and Colors is coming to claim the top spot yet again with its two new interesting shows–Fanaa Ishq Mein Marjawan and Parineetii–that promise to make this slot all the more exciting with their intriguing storylines.

Here’s a little insight into these shows:

Fanaa Ishq Mein Marjawan

Fanaa is the story about a happy-go-lucky girl Paakhi, who falls in love with Dr Ishaan at first sight, while unknown to her, her best friend of seven years, the business tycoon Agastya, has always been in love with her and plans to propose. What she also don’t know is that Agastya has had his eye on every move of her through people and cameras in every aspect of her life.

Will Paakhi ever figure out the truth? Will Agastya let Ishaan and Paakhi be together? These questions just made me more curious to uncover this story, and I have been hooked to it ever since the show began on January 31 in the 10:30 PM slot. Starring Zain Imam, Reem Shaikh and Akshit Sukhija in the lead, this show has kept me on the edge of my seat since its inception.

Parineetii

Parineetii is a story of two friends, Neeti and Parineet, who have grown up together in a small town of Punjab. But their dreams and aspirations take them away from each other. While Rajeev enters as a possible suitor for Neeti, he end up getting married to Parineet. But a turn of events lead him to marry Neeti as well.

How the lives of these two best friends, who have grown up together, transform when they end up marrying the same man, forms the crux of the story. It’s this intriguing storyline and the fresh lead cast comprising of Tanvi Dogra, Ankur Verma and Anchal Sahu that makes this show a must-watch for me, as it starts airing from this Monday in the 10 PM slot.

Colors TV has always been experimental and progressive in the kind of content it broadcasts, by giving voice to some unknown and path-breaking stories and that is why it is the most watched channel in the country. And with these two exciting shows in the prime time slot, the channel is all set to rule the TRP charts and I can’t wait to spend my family time with Colors channel and these interesting stories.
