Being a cinema buff, I long to go to cinema halls to watch films and after staying away from screens for almost two years, when Sooryavanshi gave me the chance to go back to theatres last year in November, I was ecstatic. Things seemed merry for a while, but again theatres had to shut down due to surge in Covid-19 cases, and now when things are again reopening, films are coming back to the big screens, starting with Badhaai Do recently, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching in theatre. To add to the new schedule, two new release dates, and one major change have been announced today as well.

Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur-starrer Jersey, which was scheduled to release on December 31, 2021, has announced its new release date to be be April 14, 2022. The heart whelming story of a former cricketer striving to make his child’s dream come true is a remake of the Telugu film by the same name and is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, which was earlier going to take up the April 14 slot, has decided to defer their release to August 11. Whereas Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan’s Adipurush that was earlier releasing on that date, has been pushed to a yet-unannounced date.

Check out their note:

The makers of Laal Singh Chaddha shared a note stating that the postponement is due to the film not yet being complete. They even went on to thank Bhushan Kumar, Om Raut and the entire team of Adipurush for accommodating the change.

The shuffle in Bollywood calendar was imminent after the theatres got shut again in January this year, but it fills my heart with joy to see how the industry is coming out to help each other and adjust accordingly. All these three films are much-awaited ones, and I am surely looking forward to enjoying each one of them in the big screen experience.
