Ishwak Singh has been winning accolades for his portrayal of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai in Rocket Boys and there’s no denying to the fact that he’s an actor par excellence. He also got immense appreciation for Paatal Lok. But apart from his characters, one also cannot help but notice the female attention which Singh has been getting. The actor has been making girls skip a heartbeat and fall for him. Not to mention, the stark resemblance between Fawad Khan and Ishwak hasn’t gone unnoticed. Interestingly, it’s not just his looks, but the two actors also have a similar accent and way of talking. So, I asked the actor how many people have told him that and here’s what he had to say!
Ishwak laughed and said,
I’ve been told that, but it was 5-6 years back. I thought people had forgotten about it but now it’s coming back. May be it’s the Punjabi connection and that’s why the way we speak also has similarities.
But what’s not similar is his work in every project. I’ve loved how he has been so different in every character and got the nuances right.
When asked Ishwak his process from moving from character-to-character, he said,
“We experience a whole lot of emotions, and it’s the same person who wakes up in the morning, goes to work, may lose his cool and is out partying with friends at night. If you have the basic rules of compassion, empathy and how the society functions – you will be close to reality while playing any character. You just bring a certain part of the personality to the forefront.”
So very well put! On the work front, Singh will be seen next in Berlin which has him along with Aparshakti Khurrana. I’m sure all of us want to see him more often on-screen so, this is just great news!
