Sanjay Leela Bhansali Introduces Shantanu Maheshwari In The World Of Movies

It is every actor's dream to work with a maverick filmmaker like Sanjay Leela Bhansali. And very few are lucky to make their debut with a film helmed by the ace director. One such actor is Shantanu Maheshwari who will be seen in the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. In the film's trailer we got to see glimpses of Shantanu as a groom, and yesterday, we got some more details about his character with the film's song Jab Saiyaan.

Check out the song here:

According to this song, what I gauge is that Shantanu plays a lover to Alia's character, and their chemistry in the song is just too sweet to miss. I must say, Shantanu has come a long way in his journey from television to films. In fact, other than Ajay Devgn and Alia, I am keen to know what Shantanu has to offer to Gangubai's story.

On being a part of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Shantanu says,

I have only one person to thank for this dream come true, it's Sanjay Leela Bhansali Sir. When I got to know I have been selected, I was thrilled because I was getting to work with the best. Initially, I was very nervous, but his passion is what drove me to perform better. Getting to be a part of his film especially songs was itself a learning experience because his vision for every detail on the film is awe-inspiring.  Working with him and being part of the discussions that we use to have, has given me immense confidence and has enhanced my abilities as a performer. It has been an honor and pleasure to be directed by him. If given a chance I will never lose an opportunity to work him with again.

Gangubai Kathiawadi, produced by Bhansali Productions and Dr. Jayantilal Gada's Pen Studios, is slated to release in theaters on 25th February and I am literally counting days.

The film was initially scheduled to release last year, but the pandemic kept pushing the visual treat, making it to the big screen. But now that it is just a few days away from leaving us enthralled, I am totally looking forward.
