The period between October to March is like the unofficially designated time for weddings in India. The cool weather across the nation gives the perfect opportunity to dress up and enjoy the festivities. I have myself attended four weddings in the last month alone, with two of them being on this gone weekend. And just like me and a lot others, even our Bollywood brigade was busy getting their wedding groove on as two much-awaited weddings in the industry—Vikrant Massey-Sheetal Thakur‘s and Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar‘s—took place over the weekend.

The first one was a bit of a surprise for everyone, including me, when Vikrant got married to long-time beau Sheetal in a hush-hush ceremony and the actor posted their official pictures from the wedding on social media on Saturday morning. While it was mostly their close family and friends who attended their special day, we did see glimpses of Sumona Chakravarti at the festivities.

The bride and groom both looked so happy and in love and their pictures just stole my heart. It was a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony for the two and while Sheetal rocked a red lehenga, Vikrant also brought his A-game in an off white sherwani. The couple also treated their fans to their Haldi pictures on Sunday, and those just screamed fun. The vibes of those pictures just had me swooning and wishing that I could have been a part of it.

On the other hand, Farhan and Shibani opted for a modern wedding setting in Khandala, with their friends and family in attendance. The guest list included Hrithik Roshan, with parents Pinkie and Rakesh Roshan, Farah Khan Kunder, Amrita Arora, Shibani’s sister Anusha Dandekar, Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, Ashutosh Gowariker, Rhea Chakraborty and Saqib Saleem.

While Farhan looked dapper in his black suit paired with a black shirt, Shibani’s red dress, completed with a red veil, just stole me heart. What added to the celebration was the video I saw of Shankar crooning the Dil Chahta Hai title track and the groom grooving to it. Farhan took the entertainment bar even higher as he and Hrithik matched steps to Senorita and tried recreating their moves in the track from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. While I await the official pictures of Farhan-Shibani as a married couple, I am still reeling over these pictures and videos going viral on social media.

However, these two weren’t the only weddings happening over the weekend in Bollywood. Filmmaker Luv Ranjan also got married in Agra to college sweetheart Alisha Vaid and a whole lot of B-townies went to attend the wedding there as well, which included, Kartik Aaryan, Rajkummar Rao, Patralekhaa, Sonnalli Seygall, Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani. The theme seems to be all white at the wedding as all the guests seemed to be rocking that colour in the pictures leaked from there.

Not just Bollywood, but even a lot of celebrities from the Television industry too travelled to Chandigarh to attend the wedding of singer and Bigg Boss 15 contestant Afsana Khan with singer Saajz. To name a few, Rakhi Sawant, Umar Riaz, Himanshi Khurana, Shefali Bagga and Akshara Singh, were some of the celebrity guests at the wedding.

The romantic in me is a sucker for weddings and seeing true love take its next step, and this wedding season I got to witness that in abundance. The Bollywood brigade is now returning to the bay for work, but I am sure that the wedding hangover would surely last for a while.
