Parth Samthaan has been a sweetheart and heartthrob of the small screen for a long time. Who can forget the impeccable performance he gave as Anurag Basu in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. Even I have been the victim of his charm and his innocence just steals my heart away every time. When he left the show, there were reports that he was doing so to pursue a career in films, and seems like things are now shaping up.

Ever since Parth left TV, he has made a name for himself in the music video industry with innumerable projects to his credit, the latest being the motion picture track Dhokha with Khushalii Kumar, and he also did a web show titled Main Hero Boll Raha Hu. When I ask him about how has the phase of exploring different avenues been for him since he quit TV, the actor acknowledges all the good things that have happened to him. ‘

He says,

“Thankfully, it has been favourable for me. It has gone really good. I have done music videos, web shows and now my new show with Netflix is about to come in probably March-April. As an actor, you want and need to do different projects which I have been able to do. So, this year is looking good so far.”

Parth’s big screen debut has been talked and discussed about several times. When I nudge him about it, he opens up to me sharing some details.

The actor shares,

“Right now, I am shooting for a film and then another web show. For now, all I can say about the former is that I have been waiting for it for so long and finally it is happening this month itself. I’ll be heading out of town for it and the rest details will soon be announced officially.”

There were reports of his debut happening opposite Alia Bhatt. Some even speculated that film to be Gangubai Kathiawadi, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. However, when I ask the actor if his debut is indeed opposite Alia, he remains tight-lipped.

Parth responds,

“I would not like to say anything as of now on that.”

No matter who he makes his big screen debut with, since its Parth, I will anyway be excited about it. I have seen him grow from the boy-next-door to being the heartthrob of the nation, and I am sure that as much love and appreciation that he has received on the small screen, it will just double up when he makes his Hindi film debut.
