Alia Bhatt has has just hit the bull’s eye with Gangubai Kathiawadi and she’s totally giving it back to the naysayers through solely her talent, skill and hard work. Even those who’ve not been a fan of the actress earlier are swoon away by her performance in the film. From getting the body language to the exact emotion and the swag – Alia has got it all on point and there’s not a single wrong note in her performance. The film has also proved to be such a huge hit at the box-office.

Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, here’s listing out 4 other times the actress proved her mettle totally proving that she’s here to stay on her own merit.

Udta Punjab

The film stared Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh as well, but it’s Alia who completely stole the show and was just something else in the film. She completely transformed herself in Bauria and one never saw Alia in Udta Punjab. The actress also won several awards for her performance.

Highway

It was just her second film and I cannot get over how good she was in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway. The vulnerability, the innocence and the portrayal of a childhood trauma that she went through – she was so good and her character stayed in my heart ever since. I couldn’t help but empathise with her character. For me, it’s one of her best work.

Raazi

Alia played a spy in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi and she did it like a boss! The film being a female-oriented film did spectacular box-office business and Alia won several accolades for her performance. Perhaps, it’s a role of hers that hasn’t gone away from people’s memories.

2 States

Despite the fact that this one looks like a vanilla love story, but even in a simple set-up and character, I felt she was so subtle yet on-point with her emotions. The film and character has remained in people’s hearts and Ananya straight away striked a chord in our hearts!

Now to think of it, from Student Of the Year to Highway to 2 States, Raazi, Udta Punjab and now Gangubai Kathiawadi – Alia has come such a long way. Not to mention, this sort of variety is so rare. I’m now officially an admirer, I must admit. Alia’s upcoming films include the first-of-its-kind Brahmastra and I cannot wait for it.
