I am thoroughly enjoying the current phase of the Hindi film industry as after a comparatively silent period for almost two years, Bollywood is now being in full swing, making new and exciting announcements almost every other day. Joining in that list, Kareena Kapoor Khan made my morning more special as she announced her next project with Sujoy Ghosh as she begins work on it.
Taking to her social media, Kareena shared a video from the first reading session for the film, which also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. The actress seems pretty excited to be returning to the sets for this Netflix original, which will also mark her digital debut.
Check out the announcement:
The film is based on the 2005 mystery-thriller novel The Devotion Of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino, which has earlier been adapted in a 2017 Chinese film by the same name. It is being helmed by Sujoy, who is also producing the film with Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri and Thomas Kim. It is presented by 12th Street Entertainment and Northern Lights Films in association with Boundscript and Kross Pictures.
Kareena was last seen in the 2020 film Angrezi Medium alongside the late Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan. After that, she took a little break for the birth of her younger son Jeh, and now she is all set to return to the screens. She already has Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chadha in the offing, and as much as I have loved seeing her fun family moments on Instagram, I am doubly excited for her return to the screen. There are a lot of new developments happening in Kareena's professional life as apart from making her OTT debut with this film, she is also turning a producer with a film with Hansal Mehta, and I can't wait to see the actor flourish in this new phase of her career.
