Joanna Fernandes

Day 3 of the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week was full of mystique and magic, it seemed. From subtle and muted tones to all things glitter and glam, we got to see a fun and balanced mix of many different styles. Each collection left us wanting more and we were certainly not left disappointed! All in all, the designers did a splendid job of keeping us mesmerized throughout!

Swatti Kapoor, Jajaabor & Kiniho

From block prints and elegant pleating to delicate hand embroidery, Swatti Kapoor‘s collection, The Rise, features multiple styles. This line is inspired by a hand-painted silk scroll inscription and Poem named Auspicious Cranes by Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Jaajabor‘s line WAH USTA, WAH  shares the story of the last of Usta brothers and their exquisite art form and is certainly seen throughout the collection. Kiniho’s collection is inspired by a Khasi folktale of Sier Lapalang. It features Eri silk fabric that is naturally dyed and handwoven by the local weavers in Ribhoi district in Meghalaya.
