Franchise films always have another level of excitement and have a huge curiousity among the audience. The biggest proof to that was the Baahubali franchise where all one heard was, ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?‘ till the sequel released and revealed it. Franchise films lead to a loyal fan base among cine-goers and most-often have a huge canvas and grandeur, thus promising an amazing theatrical experience to the audience. There are lots of franchise films which I’m looking forward to, this year and here’s listing them for you guys! Read on…

KGF Chapter 2

The trailer of KGF 2 was unveiled yesterday in a grand way that did absolute justice to the larger-than-life vibe of the film. I’ve loved how Yash’s takes it to another level in this one and of course, Sanjay Dutt’s look and character has added to the film’s USP apart from a powerful performer like Raveena Tandon also joining the team. Truly, it’s one of the most anticipated sequels and KGF is one of the biggest franchise films we have. I’m so looking forward to seeing it and blow whistles at those dialogues and grand sequences.

Heropanti 2

Tiger Shroff made his debut with Heropanti and now the actor is back with its sequel. This time Tara Sutaria is paired opposite the actor and the sequel promises to double up the action. For me, AR Rahman’s music is also one of the USPs of Heropanti 2 and it’s going to have a big Eid release on April 29. Hoping this one lives up to the stardom of Tiger which was created with his debut, in the film’s first part.

Brahmastra

Brahmastra is India’s first intended trilogy and the part one is set to release on September 9, 2022. Ever since the film has been announced, there’s been immense curiousity around it – owing to the fact that it’s a one of its kind movie. We are still wondering how this world would be and how the audiences would travel through the journey of this film in three parts. Also, it’s the ensemble – comprising of Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni which is also leaving fans curious. It’s surely expected to take Indian cinema to the next level and hoping it’s going to be worth the wait!

Ek Villain Returns

Ek Villain which released in 2014, was a huge hit and the music of the film is remembered even today. Directed by Mohit Suri, the first part had Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh while the sequel intends to be bigger with John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani starring in it. Ek Villain Returns has just wrapped its shoot and it touted to release on July 8 this year.

Apart from these, the one sequel that people are desperately waiting is that of Pushpa which released this year. But we would have to hold our horses for that at the moment.

Hoping these films dole out some great content and be worth all the hype. For now, I’m really keen to watch all of these as a hardcore movie buff.
