My heart has been beating with excitement to catch the first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt as a married couple. The wedding ceremony was held this afternoon and I just got more and more excited as I saw the couple’s friends and family heading to the wedding venue, Ranbir’s house Vastu. While trying to find out more about the wedding, I came across the story of how Alia reacted to Ranbir’s sangeet performance and it is just too sweet.
Choreographer Rajendra Singh aka Masterji, who has been associated with the Kapoors for over two decades, shared his experience of choreographing Ranbir-Alia’s sangeet with Free Press Journal.
He shared,
“The whole thing was a surprise for Alia and Ranbir and they had no idea their family members will be performing for them. When they saw the performance, they totally freaked out.”
Ranbir also did a special performance for his bride and while Alia couldn’t dance much due to the mehendi on her hands and legs, she did had an adorable reaction to her beau’s performance.
Masterji informed,
“Ranbir performed on Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra’s song Tenu Leke Main Javanga from the film Salaam-e-Ishq. Alia and her family really loved the performance. They didn’t expect that there will be surprise dance performances for them.”
He also went on to share that Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and other members of the Kapoor family performed on the songs Mehendi Hai Rachnewali, Cutie Pie and Dholida.
This is truly turning out to be the wedding of the year, and these stories from the celebrations are making me all the more excited to see the couple as husband and wife. The latest buzz is that Ranbir and Alia will pose for the media at 7 in the evening. So, I am just glued to my phone’s screen as I wait for it.
