The iconic footballer from Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo left his fans and followers on social media quite emotional last evening. Taking to his respective social media platforms, Twitter and Instagram the Portugal footballer announced that his newborn son has passed away. Cristiano was expecting twins with long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez, and while the couple was blessed with a baby girl and a boy, their son couldn’t survive. In the note, the football star wrote how they are devastated at the loss and also requested privacy as they deal with this difficult time.
Here’s what he wrote:
It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We want to thank the doctors and nurses for their care and support. We are devastated by this loss and request privacy at this difficult time. Baby, you are our angel. We will always love you.

It was in October last year that the football star had announced with a cute post on social media, that he and Georgina were expecting twins. In the pictures, he was also seen posing with his four other children – Cristiano Jr, Mateo, and daughters Eva and Alana. Cristiano is quite the family man, and seeing his pictures with children and Georgina points out that they are his world.
