Instagram Rolls Out ‘Enhanced Tags’ On Reels To Boost Creator Crediting & Recognition

Every time we scroll through our IG our experience just keeps getting better. Whether for a creator or user, Instagram launches and comes out with new features to inspire, empower, express yourself and reach out to a wider audience. Yesterday, Instagram announced that ‘Enhanced Tags’ are now available on Reels as well. This makes it easier and better for creators to receive credit for their work and boost their confidence. Now, contributions will be more visible on posts as well as Reels.

Here’s how you can enhance creator recognition on Instagram

About ‘Enhanced Tags’

Creators are incredibly important to the future of Instagram, and therefore the community has come together to support them. ‘Enhanced Tags’ allow creators’ to view their self-designated profile category on their professional accounts to be displayed in their ‘People Tag’, so that people can share and view a creator’s specific contribution to a post and now Reels too. In simple words, if you’re a makeup artist, songwriter, or another significant collaborator, your contributions will be visible in the post or Reel.

How to use ‘Enhanced Tags’

Step 1: Open the Instagram app and tap the (+) in the top-right corner

Step 2: Create a new post and tap ‘Next’      

Step 3: Make any creative edits and then tap ‘Next’

Step 4: After writing a caption, tap ‘Tag People’

Step 5: Select ‘Add Tag’ and search and select your contributors

Step 6: Tap the’ Show’ profile category to display the creator category

Step 7: Tap ‘Done’

Step 8: Once you’ve added any additional tags and details, tap ‘Share’

Tips: Update your creator category to represent your craft and approve discoverability for your account and content.

Make sure enhanced tags are legible, and avoid stacking tags on top of each other so that audiences can clearly see the enhanced tags.
