With the Cannes Film Festival currently in full swing, we’re seeing our leading Bollywood ladies stir up a storm on the red carpet and ace look after look. Clearly, they all came to win and slay with these luxurious and over the top looks that we just can’t seem to get over. We’ve seen them make quite the statement in sarees, ballgowns, pantsuits, the works. Keep reading to know more about some of our favourite looks that graced the red carpet at The Cannes Film Festival.

Here are some of our favourite looks from our leading Bollywood ladies on the Cannes red carpet:

1) Deepika Padukone

Celebrity stylist Shaleena Nathani styled Deepika Padukone in a custom Louis Vuitton gown. The gown is a statement piece because it challenges the myth of wearing red on a red carpet and who better than Deepika to dispel this for everyone. The gown features a plunging neckline with a peplum waistline and an A-line silhouette. A statement accessory like her diamond pendant Cartier necklace is exactly what this look needed. Makeup artist Sandhya Shekar opted for over the top glam with a red pout, smokey eyes and accented with glittery inner corners. Hairstylist Yianni Tsapatori gave Deepika a slick look and added max texture to create a feathered low ponytail. The look was super interesting and one we haven’t seen before.

2) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

If one had to describe Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s look in one word, we would say Magical! Celebrity styling duo Aastha Sharma and Mohit Rai nailed the styling in every way possible. This lavender  Gaurav Gupta gown is inspired by the Birth Of Venus—a painting by Italian artist Sandro Botticelli. ARB literally looks like the goddess of beauty and love, rising from a scalloped shell. This outfit is the perfect amalgamation of art and fashion, couture at its best. She accessorised her look with a diamond ear cuff and diamond midi rings from Messika Paris. L’Oréal Paris‘s Global Makeup Director, Val Garland gave her a classic, monochromatic glow with a glossy pink pout and subtle pink eyeshadow with a graphic wing liner. Hairstylist Stephane Lancien gave her side-swept, Hollywood curls that really worked well with the structural movement of the garment.

3) Aditi Rao Hydari

Celebrity stylist Sanam Ratansi styles Aditi Rao Hydari in an ivory Sabyasachi saree. The organza saree is hand-dyed and embroidered, featuring a deep neck, with long sleeves and a gold border. Her look is accessorised with a tiny, black bindi and a diamond choker from Sabyasachi Jewellery’s Bengal Royale collection. Hair and makeup artist Elton J Fernandez gave Aditi a glorious red lip that is highlighted by her hair that is pulled back neatly into a tight bun. Smokey eyes and her classic, strong brow complete her glam.

4) Hina Khan

Stylist Sayali Vidya styles Hina Khan in a lilac gown by Sophie Couture. The mini, tube dress features 3D, appliqué work and feather detailing that then goes into a ballgown effect waist down. It almost mimics the movement of a wave from the back and adds much-needed drama to the look. The dress is constructed to perfection and Hina looks flawless in it. Her look is accessorised with diamond earrings from Renu Oberoi jewellery, bracelets and rings from Mozaati and Joolry by Karishma with gold heels by Loriblu. Makeup artist Liz Bomben gave Hina shimmery, purple eyeshadow with a green liner applied to the bottom waterline adding a pop of colour to her face and soft pink, glossy lips added to her glam. Hairstylist Nicola Noviello gave her a faux bob with subtle waves.

5) Helly Shah

Stylist Natashaa Bothra styled Helly Shah is an extravagant Ziad Nakad green gown. The gown features a plunging neckline with a heavily embellished bodice with a sheer embellished cape as well. Love the padded shoulders too. Because the outfit packs such a major punch and is heavy on embellishments they topped off her look with a tennis bracelet and ear studs from Mozaati.
