Love her or hate her, but everybody wants to be her, no? Kim Kardashian has definitely taught us a thing or two about makeup and skincare. Whether it’s managing to ace the snatched contour look or getting us intrigued about “vampire facials”, we’ve always been curious to know all that encompasses her beauty arsenal. I was lucky enough to get the chance to try out a face mask that Kimmie herself has tried out, and loved! Yep, I know, I was just as excited.

111Skin, the celebrity-favourite skincare brand has finally made its way to India via Nykaa’s Global Store, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s high time we get a taste of some luxury beauty too, no? Celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Bella Hadid and even Victoria Beckham are ardent fans of this particular skincare brand. Created by Dr Yannis Alexandrides, a practising surgeon who was on the search for healing and soothing products that could help the post-operation procedure when it came to plastic surgery. And voila! In that process, 111Skin was born.

Naturally, I’d been waiting to finally try their famed products out. I tried out the Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Facial mask. And yep, it’s as cool as it sounds!

Here’s a little information about this mask—

  • It’s a healing facial mask that’s meant to repair your skin and rejuvenate it in the process.
  • Designed for skin that’s either stressed or damaged, the Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Facial Mask contains complexes and ingredients that are often used to make wounds heal faster.
  • The bio-cellulose is a crucial ingredient when it comes to cell repair. It strives to lock in all the hydration and allow easy absorption of other active ingredients.

And finally, here’s what I thought about this product.

Well, truth be told, I’m definitely not a sheet masks kinda gal. It’s never been my thing, not into it! Get the Kardashian reference? LOL! I’ve always gravitated towards clay masks or even gel masks. I’m of the opinion that why must we use a sheet mask when we could just use a potent serum every day. Makes a lot of sense, no? However, this opinion of mine changed a tad bit after coming across 111Skin. I’m gonna be honest here, I’ve only used 5 sheet masks in my whole life. Shocking coming from a beauty writer, yeah? So, the Y Theorem Bio-Cellulose Facial Mask was just the 6th one.

Since 111Skin’s sheet masks are often used as a pre-makeup skincare ritual at red carpet events by celebrity makeup artists, that’s exactly how I used it too. Minus the red carpet, obvs! Well, with celebrities raving about how radiant this mask makes them look within just 20 minutes, I just had to try it out! I had a hot date planned for Friday night, and it’d been a while since I stepped out. So I decided to put the Y Theorem Bio-Cellulose Facial Mask to the test.

With this scorching heat, it seemed just right to refrigerate the mask before I used it. And boy, did that feel heavenly! So, unlike usual sheet masks that are often made with paper, this one’s created using bio cellulose, an ingredient that is renowned for its power to literally sink into your skin, almost like a second skin. When I laid this on my face, I noticed that it was a seamless fit. And almost covered every nook and cranny. Neither did the product drip excessively (which happens on most occasions) nor did the mask feel heavy. I left it on for a good 20 minutes, and all thanks to the cooling effect it felt like a relaxing spa.

Just after I removed the mask, I massaged my face a lil bit with a gua sha tool to ensure optimal absorption. And hey, some sculpting never did any harm. The verdict is that I absolutely loved how my skin looked right after I used it. Not only did it look plumper than usual, but it also felt quite hydrated! NGL, the product took a while to sink into my skin completely, but that could also be attributed to the fact that I have super oily skin and we live in Mumbai, the humidity capital of the country.

However, my makeup layered on this like a dream. In fact, it imparted a dewy glow that even most primers fail to! Would I use this again? Yes. Would I use it frequently? Not at all. It’s a little heavy on the pocket, so I’d prefer to use it only when I have an occasion coming up. In conclusion, I finally found a sheet mask that I LOVE!
