Ever since things have gotten back to normal there has been an influx of amazing content we are witnessing on the entertainment front. Not only is it Bollywood, but even OTT and Television that is making sure to enthral us. But in terms of films, we seem to be outdoing ourselves, just last week we saw a spectacular trailer of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s Brahmastra. And today morning, the first look of Ranbir’s other film Shamshera was dropped in. Well, I must say, one thing I absolutely love about RK is that he always lets his work speak. He is away from the limelight mostly, distant from the social media gig too, but he is deeply engrossed in cinema. After seeing his look in Shamshera I am not just intrigued, but also impressed with his dacoit avatar and I want to know more about the character.
In the poster, we see an intimidating Ranbir with long grown hair and a dense beard, with fierce expressions looking straight into our eyes. And that stare engrosses me only to dig deeper into the world of Shamshera. Having said that, what has been the highlight of this announcement for me is what Alia Bhatt wrote on Instagram as she shared the poster.

Ranbir Kapoor’s action entertainer is said to be a visual extravaganza. The film will be released in IMAX on 22nd July and also stars, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in important roles.
What I know about the film is that the story of Shamshera is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe. He relentlessly fights for his tribe’s freedom and dignity. His name is Shamshera. The film is set in the 1800s in the heartland of India. Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing Ranbir’s arch-enemy and his showdown with Ranbir will be something to watch out for as they will ferociously go after each other with no mercy.
This action extravaganza has been directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and I already cannot wait to see it.
