The boom in OTT has certainly changed life for many actors and performers, and the medium only continues to get bigger as we speak. Well, today, stardom has a new definition thanks to the web space, and amongst the chosen ones to taste this modern-day stardom has been actor Arjun Mathur. You and I have seen him on the big screen several times, but we were left mesmerized with him in 2019 with the web show Made In Heaven. Well, there has been no stopping for Arjun, and while Made In Heaven brought him an Emmy nomination, another favourite performance from him for me has been of Sahil Gujral in Gone Game.

Honestly, when Gone Game Season 2 of the show was released on 7th July, I didn’t want to lose the opportunity of speaking to this very talented actor. So we chatted up about the new season, Arjun also spoke about his Emmy nomination and lots more.

Read excerpts from the conversation here:

On his excitement for Gone Game 2…

It is always exciting when there is a second season of a show, it kind of reiterates that whatever you did in season one was of some value. Season one had its severe limitations and circumstances that it was shot in, but with this one we have gotten to be much more expansive with the scale of the show. I am glad that has happened because the show deserves that.

On his character and the quality, he would want to adopt from him…

My character was very much in control of the situation in season one, in season two he is very much a slave to his circumstance. That’s a glaring difference. But the quality of being able to get away with anything, sabko ullu banakar bhaag gaya, it’s a good quality to have (giggles).

On being back on the sets post the pandemic…

I didn’t have even one scene with my co-actors even in this season, but in that sense it was just like shooting any other show. Season one was unique because of the way we shot it, but season two was like any other show.

On his Emmy nomination for Made In Heaven…

Nothing has changed about me since the Emmy nomination, I have always approached my work from one perspective only. I have wanted to do things that really make me happy, follow my heart, and it is only because of that, I am wherever I am. And wherever I have to go will also be based on this only.

Before Gone Game 2, Arjun was seen in the web-show Jugaadistaan which was quite appreciated by the audience.
