If you ask me, roses are definitely my favourite flower. Not just because my crush happened to get me a couple, but because of all the benefits they come along with. For centuries, roses have been associated with eternal beauty. Being a versatile bunch, roses have been used for a gazillion things over time. Aside from being a symbol of love, these flowers come with therapeutic and skincare benefits too. The fragrance of a rose flower is said to calm your senses and uplift your mood, perfect for a relaxed day, no?

However, as always we’re more intrigued by all of the beauty benefits the rose has to offer! It’s no secret that it happens to be a healing ingredient that soothes irritated skin and calms it down. It also works to clear out any stubborn blemishes on your skin and ensure it’s healthy. The anti-oxidant properties of rose, something which it happens to be renowned for, do a great job at helping your skin deal with ageing. Now that we’ve made it pretty clear how rose as an ingredient truly is a superhero, we’ve obviously got a little something for you.

Here are a few rose-infused beauty products that we’re absolutely loving RN!

Sadhev, Rose Water

Rose water is a skincare product that we’ve even seen our mothers and grandmothers use. It’s a versatile skincare product that can be used all by itself or even mixed with other skincare products, definitely one you can’t go wrong with at all! The Rose Water from Sadhev is an enriching blend of handpicked centifolia roses which are meticulously harvested right when the pink buds begin sprouting colour. This rose water works so well to hydrate your skin when it’s feeling parched and flaky. It also instantly refreshes your skin, and might I add your soul too. I love carrying this bottle with me whenever I’m on the go. Nothing a spritz of rose water can’t solve.

Again, a tried and tested skincare remedy has got to be facial ubtans. According to Maharashtrian tradition, we always use ubtan to cleanse our body and face for the first shower. And boy, does it do a wonderful job! The Facial Ubtan Roop Nikhar Gulab from Forest Essentials is a potent exfoliating treatment meant to offer your face a deep cleanse. Along with rose, which tones your skin and reduces fine lines, it also comes enriched with saffron that reduces pigmentation and almond oil that intensely moisturises. Personally, I enjoy using this a couple of times a week and sometimes even as a face mask!

Ethiko, Rose Water Toner

Personally, I’m someone who’s always conflicted about using toners in her skincare routine because of how drying they tend to get. However, the Rose Water Toner from Ethiko is a refreshing change. Instead of drying out your skin, it keeps it naturally hydrated and balances the pH at the same time. If you deal with excessively oily skin like me, then you’re going to love this because it also works to control the oil production in your skin, which in turn can combat breakouts.

The Body Shop, British Rose Body Butter

Ever walked into a garden of roses and inhaled that dreamy scent which instantly uplifted your mood and made you feel better? That’s exactly what the British Rose Body Butter from The Body Shop smells like. When it comes to body butters, I never seem to find the perfect one because most of them tend to make your skin feel sticky, all thanks to the persistent humidity of Mumbai. However, this particular one happens to be pretty lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all. Made with the goodness of English roses, shea butter and sesame seed oil, this body butter will nourish and leave your skin feeling silky soft. And you’re going to be smelling like a bouquet of roses all day long!

Facial oils are a powerful product that are enriched with a blend of fatty and nutrients which re-energize your skin and battle a variety of skincare issues. Wishful’s Get Even Rose Oil was something my super oily, acne-prone skin absolutely loved. A potent blend of 15 oils, primarily Damascus rose oil which heals the skin and tones the complexion along with carrot seed and rosehip oil both of which deeply moisturise and reduce dark spots— what’s not to love? Use this with your gua sha for the best results and thank us later!
