It is just a week left for Janhvi Kapoor to make an appearance on the OTT platform with her upcoming film GoodLuck Jerry. I was impressed when the makers had dropped the trailer. It was interesting to witness unusual plot directed by Siddharth Sen, where Janhvi breaks all odds to look after her ailing mother. In some of the scenes, I got glimpse of her late mother Sridevi in her mannerisms. Apart from Janhvi, I was glad to see Deepak Dobriyal, I am sure he will be equally entertaining in the film. Interestingly Janhvi was tutored to get her dialect right while she was prepping for the movie.
Talking about working with Janhvi, director Siddharth Sen says…
Working with Janhvi was absolutely fun and I truly mean it. For instance before starting the shoot on the very first location in Vasipathana near Patiala, I asked her to come and see the location and get a feel of it so she came she rocked through the location with her entourage and came to me and appreciated it like any other actor or star would. She was about to leave and I told her you could leave as you have that option I can’t stop you but if you really want to live Jerry you will have to live this world, be with people who live here behave like them talk like them. The next moment I saw her sitting on the footpath and reading the script I thought she was just trying to make me happy because I told her, but from that day she literally lived there she was sleeping on set, she was playing cards, learning magic tricks, riding auto rickshaws, play cricket, literally everything! And honestly till today we are in sync, for a Director its a blessing. She made the set so much fun, she made the other actors so comfortable, she was absolutely a treat to work with and she is the most obedient and hard working actor I have worked with
Now, that’s what I call professionalism! I think Janhvi lived the titular character while shooting for GoodLuck Jerry. Going by Siddharth’s version, it seems the entire team of the film enjoyed the filmmaking process.
