We are living in a time and age where television has been ruling many hearts. And while it continues to have this huge audience, the vast variety of shows also makes the medium a liked one. Talking about the many shows, period dramas have been quite a favourable genre on the tube and the one which has been a favourite of the viewers is the Zee TV show Kashibai Bajirao Ballal. Well, the cast is doing an amazing job, but what’s even better is that I got to speak to one of them recently. Yes, I had a conversation with actor Nabeel Mirajkar who we see as Chimaji on the show. We spoke about the period drama, the 300 ads that Nabeel has been a part of and also having films and web shows like Baby, Radhe Shyam, Cartel, The Married Woman, etc.

Read his interview here:

You have been a part of films, and web shows and now that you are doing a period drama, how different is it?

It’s very different, the set, the costumes , the budget of the project , the overall look and feel , the characterization is totally unique.

Does playing a historical character like Chimaji add pressure to live up to expectations?

Not really , Chimaji was a very a simple person , he dedicated his life for his kingdom and his family , also we don’t know much about him like other historical characters, since he was a very private person.

You have done quite a lot of web shows. Tell me, is working on a web show quite different from a TV show?

TV works on a very fast pace, we have the telecast date due and need to complete almost an entire episode in a day, so work is always done in haste here. Whereas web is more of a movie format , where the pace is lesser since we don’t have a telecast deadline and we get to spend more time on everything.

You also did films like Baby, Radhe Shyam, etc. But do we get to see you more on the big screen?

Absolutely, I’m in talks for a few more things. Let’s hope for the best, also, I have finished an art feature film with Sanjay Suri a few months back , that should be out soon.

Any plans to make a career in movies or for now you are loving being on TV?

I don’t have any preconceived notions when it comes to this, I’m fine with all formats as long as I’m enjoying what I’m doing and I’m getting paid well (laughs).

What’s the plan ahead, do we see you on the web space soon or in a film?

As I said I’m in talks for a few things, let’s hope for the best , too early for me to speak on them.

On the work front, we have seen Nabeel as a part of shows like Udaan, Ikkyavan, Jee Le Zara, Story Nine Months Ki, and many more. I wish Nabeel good luck and success in the time to come.
