I still remember the day I saw the first look of Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency, I was completely spellbound. I think the actress has worked extremely hard on her mannerisms and voice to get into the skin of the character of Indira Gandhi. After that, the Queen actress has been introducing different characters week after week creating more curiosity in me about the project.

The project has been produced by Kangana’s production house Manikarnika Films and has been helmed by the actress herself. When I saw this clip with headphones, I got goosebumps. The dialogues and the background score were the USP of the first look.
However Kangana also released new characters in the film, here’s a look at them.
After revealing the first look clip of the protagonist, the Thalaivi star introduced Anupam Kher’s character Jayaprakash Narayan. He was one of the prominent leaders who stood against emergency. The Saraansh star essays the role of a historical figure, who changed the scenario of independent India.
Next the actress shares the look of Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Bajpayee. He was one of the emerging leaders during the time of emergency. It would be interesting to see the Golmaal 3 star portray the former Prime Minister of India. This is not the first time Shreyas will play a real life character. He had appeared last as Pravin Tambe in his biopic, Kaun Pravin Tambe?
Going forward, the Tanu Weds Manu Returns star introduces Mahima Chaudhry’s character Pupu Udayakar. She was the author, activist and a confidante of the former Prime Minister. The character knew the deepest secrets of Mrs. Gandhi.
Then comes Milind Soman’s character as Sam Manekshaw. While sharing about the character Kangana mentioned that Sam and Indira Gandhi worked together during the war and made fruitful strategies against the opponents.
With such interesting characters and a gripping plot, I am sure the film is going to be worth a watch!
