Exclusive! ‘I Felt A Lot Of Anxiety Slip Out Of My Body After The First Performance’ – Nia Sharma On Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 10

Nawaz Kochra

Last week when Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 10 premiered on television, I was quite elated to have the dance reality show back on television. But earlier to that I got a chance to speak with almost all the contestants from the show, one of them was actress Nia Sharma whose debut performance on the show literally left me very mind blown. But you know what even before that it was the lady who left me charmed with her confidence and earnestness, with her eagerness to give her best and ace every moment of her journey. Nia has come with an intention to win and I knew it once again yesterday when I saw the promo of her upcoming performance on JDJ 10.

Watch glimpses of her performance from tonight right here:

Talking to me about the joy of coming back on screen, Nia said…

I always wanted to do this show and now having done my first performance, I can’t tell you how happy I am. Sometimes you get what you want quite easily, and sometimes you have to struggle for it, this show is the latter for me. I have tried to be on Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa for years, it has been my most favourite show. I wanted to be there and I wasn’t there, but now I am here and I am going to leave no stone unturned to reach the finale and see myself holding that trophy.

Sharing how amazing it felt after a first performance, Nia stated…

I felt a lot of anxiety slip out of my body after the first performance, I felt happy, took a sigh of relief. Before my first performance on Jhalak, I had cried and had many nervous breakdowns. I had mixed emotions, but when everybody stands up and claps for you that was a feeling.

Nia also shared that from the judges who does she look up to the most…

I have met the judges for the first time and they were the warmest people, it was so positive and vibrant. I feel all three judges are important and all of them mean everything to me. But having seeing Nora’s journey personally from air to where and how, I relate to that and the way she has redefined dancing, so I want to win that appreciation from Nora.

What I like about Nia is that she is confident and not overconfident, when I asked her how much of a pro dancer is she, Nia said…

The grace you have to carry with your dancing, I don’t have any of that, I am just a blah dancer. I have a lot of hard work to put in to compete with the fab dancers we have on the show.

Well, Nia is clearly her to live through this journey of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 10 and I am sure that with her this approach her time on the show will be a memorable one. Having said that don’t miss her amazing performance on Colors at 8 pm tonight.
