The teaser of Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi starrer Double XL intrigued the audience and me in a funny way. I was curious to know what could be the story behind these two characters. And today, the makers have finally released the trailer of the film and I must tell you, it will win your heart. The slice of life, comedy-drama directed by Satramm Ramani, questions bodyweight stereotypes that have long been plaguing our society, in the most humorous manner.

Going by the trailer, Double XL looks like a fun ride that shows massive potential to spark social conversation around the subject – While Huma Qureshi plays a sport’s presenter, Sonakshi steps into the shoes of an emerging stylist, both of whom piled on the pounds for the film. The film also stars Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra in important roles opposite the leading ladies, along with a talented ensemble star cast all of whom make just the right impact.
Widely shot in India and the UK, Double XL takes a trip into the hearts of two plus-size women, one from rural Uttar Pradesh and the other from modern New Delhi, as they navigate through a society that frequently associates a woman’s attractiveness or beauty with her size. A special surprise for fans, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan also makes his acting debut in the film with another cameo from veteran Kapil Dev.
