We are in an amazing space of content these days, and what I love more is how we are open to content from various industries. In fact, in the last few years, Marathi cinema has been doing quite well and what is even great is to see actress Anusha Dandekar returning to the industry. Yes, from being a renowned VJ to building her own beauty brand to now getting back to the big screen, Anusha is all set to lead the ‘set life’ once again with her Marathi film Baap Manus. The actress recently began shooting for the film in London.

In order to prep for her role, not only did Anusha take diction classes, but also made sure she gets her language pitch perfect.

Talking about the process she shares,

It isn’t the size of the role, it’s how well you want to be able to play it. I worked with a diction coach for two weeks to get an accurate accent for my role. The sessions went on for almost three hours a day, but in the end, I always love the magic that goes behind creating a character.

Anusha even spoke about Baap Manus, she said…

Baap Manus is a very special project. It is my return to Marathi cinema, infact coming back to acting altogether and I want this to be the start of many different roles in Hindi, Marathi and English.  This is a great start, with a role I deeply cherish. And shooting in one of my favourite cities, London, is actually more meaningful because my first ever film I did, Viruddh, was partly shot here too.

Anusha will be seen essaying the role of Krisha, a fiercely independent divorcee who is unapologetic about her choices and unabashed about finding love again. Baap Manus is directed by Yogesh Phulphagar and also stars Pushkar Jog in the lead role.
