A lot of amazing stories have been told on the big screen as well as in the OTT space these days. But what amazes me is how even film producers are upping their game when it comes to telling stories. I say so because one story I am eagerly waiting to watch is Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F‘s Freddy. The film is produced by Jay Shewkramani of Northern Light Films and is directed by Shashanka Ghosh. I recently spoke to Jay about this film and there were some amazing things he had to share.

Talking about Freddy, Jay says…
Freddy came to me as just a two pager story idea from Parveez Shaikh. What I connected to instantly was not just the story but the Parsi world, the atmosphere that Parveez had created in the story itself was extremely fresh. I said yes as soon as I finished reading those two pages. So once Parveez finished the screenplay of the film and then Aseem Arora came in and did the dialogue once I heard it I was sold.
Sharing the reasons why one should watch Freddy, Jay says,
To me the reason to watch Freddy would be Kartik in a never before seen avatar. Alaya post Jawaani Jaaneman is going to surprise everyone. The way Shashanka has directed this film are a few reasons to watch Freddy.
Talking about how OTT has changed the game for producers too, Jay says…
The game has of course changed as the exposure to content is massive. That’s a good thing because it keeps us all on our toes and everyone I guess is trying to up their game.
Freddy releases on 2nd December on Disney Plus Hotstar and Kartik Aaryan has already left me so impressed that I cannot wait to watch the film.
