Every year we see so many fresh faces in Bollywood, and some of them leave a strong impact with their performances. Goodbye actor Abhishekh Khan is one such actor who made his performance speak for him. In fact, when I watched Goodbye even though my heart was heavy at the emotional moments, I only burst out crying when Abhishekh’s character Nakul (the youngest son) entered the story. His performance touched my heart, and recently, I spoke to him about the same where he revisited those moments with me. He even shared how it felt to have his first film with Amitabh Bachchan.

Talking about his journey with Goodbye, Abhishekh shared…

I had never imagined that my first film would be with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. The letter from him came in 2021, but I didn’t have the guts to speak about it. Goodbye didn’t work in the theatres so I was a little sad, but on OTT is did really well. I got hear from a lot of people from around the world, the film did resonate with a lot of people. That made a huge difference in my life. I don’t like to show off things to people, because I still haven’t done something big. Something might be a deal for me, but it might not be the same for others. There is a lot to do, so thinking of myself as a big star from now would be wrong. I am blessed.

Looking back at how amazing a year 2022 has been for him, Abhishekh said…

I don’t know what will happen in the future but 2022 was definitely the best year of my life. I got to work with Shakun Batra twice in the same year, I got to work with Amitabh sir and stand in the same podium with Sunil Grover, Rashmika Mandanna, Neena Gupta, and Pavail Gulati. I got to meet many directors and actors when they came to see Goodbye. The teaser for my show Lootere that I did in 2021 came out, I shot for a show and also a music video was released. So this was the most fulfilling year for me as an artist and as a person.

He even told me how it felt to see himself on screen for the first time…

For the first screening I didn’t take any of my friends or family, I was very scared thinking that my part is not that huge so what if I am not in the film. But before the screening when I met Vikas (Bahl) sir he told me that people cried badly on my scene. One thing that Vikas promised me was that he will give me an introducing Abhishekh Khan, and as soon as the film started it was there. I cried at that time. When I saw myself towards the end, I could see people with heavy breaths. When the film ended there was a crew member who never really spoke to me while filming, but she hugged me and said that you have won me over.

It was just so heartwarming for me to listen to Abhishekh speak, and you know what? 2023 is even better for him. He has two projects, one is Lootere directed by Jay Mehta, the showrunner for it is Hansal Mehta and it has been shot in Capetown. Abhishekh plays a very important role in it. Another one is an untitled medical drama that Abhishekh wrapped up shooting for in November. Well, I am looking forward to these brilliant performances.
