I will always remember Satish Kaushik with a smile on his face, at all times. Satish passed away on 9th March. due to a heart attack. As per reports, he complained to his driver about his uneasiness which soon turned out to be a heart attack that he did not survive. Satish ji was loved for his charming and wholesome roles. His career spans from Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro in 1983 to the latest film that he was working on in 2023, Emergency, spearheaded by Kangana Ranaut. He was not only a celebrated actor but also a celebrated director. His skills and talent will definitely be missed on the big screen. Here are some movies that you should watch, to remember him.

Chhatriwali

Satish Kaushik who plays the owner of the condom factory was critically acclaimed for this role. He also said how important this role was, for a topic that is so taboo in the country. The film was also appreciated for raising awareness about safe sex among the youth.

Thar

This veteran actor was also seen in Thar, alongside his long-time friend Anil Kapoor. He said that he took up the role of a constable, while Anil played the role of a police officer as he wanted to take on something pathbreaking. He undoubtedly made for the perfect side-kick, and there is no one who could have taken up this role better than him.

Sharmaji Namkeen

In this, film which also starred the late actor Rishi Kapoor, Satish ji played his friend in the film that he usually confided in. All his characters exuded warmth and love and this pairing was an absolute treat to the audience.

Mr India

His role as Calendar from the blockbuster hit, Mr India, is one that every 90s kid will fondly remember. This film starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi went in to become a mega-hit, but the character Calendar will always stay close to my heart. The dialogue ‘Calendar khaana do’ still rings in my head. And ofcourse, Calendar’s precious smile as well.

Mr and Mrs Khiladi

Another loved character of Satish Kaushik on the big screen has been Chanda Mama in Mr and Mrs Khialdi starring Akshay Kumar and Juhi Chawla. This film by David Dhawan remains memorable for the onscreen bond the characters Akshay and Satish Ji shared on screen. In this film, he did not just make us laugh, but also won our hearts with his charm. This film is sure to tickle your funny bone.

There are a lot more iconic roles that I would always remember him by, Calendar from Mr. India is my favourite. He also starred in some memorable films like Mr. And Mrs. Khiladi, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hai, and many more. We the team of MissMalini offer his family sincere condolences and may he rest in peace.
