Each year The Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts announces a list of members joining them for the year. This year as well, the committee put out a list of 398 members of personalities ranging from actors, directors, singers and songwriters. Some of the renowned names on this list include singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, filmmaking duo The Daniels, and many more. Some Indian names also made it to this list, such as Karan Johar, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Mani Ratnam and many more.
Watching these Indian names on the list makes you proud. These are some of the biggest talents that India has to offer and watching them take their talent across seas and be invited by The Academy is a big feat and putting India’s name on the map. Apart from these, others such as Siddharth Roy Kapur, lyricist Chandrabose, music composer MM Keeravani, filmmaker Shaunak Sen whose film was nominated at the Academy Awards, and many more.
These members will then be voting for the various categories of the Academy Award. This year was great for Indian Cinema at the Oscars, from Natu Natu to Elephant Whisperers, India bought home two Oscars this year.
