Genelia Deshmukh was last seen in Ved, alongside her beau Riteish Deshmukh. The film was an absolute blockbuster and the audience loved her role as Shravni in the film. The actress has now taken up another project, which is quite different from her previous movies. In the film Trial Period, she portrays the role of a Bengali mother, living with her son in Delhi. The trailer of the film is out now, and the plot looks absolutely intriguing.
In an interview with Bollywood MDB, the actress mentioned how this prep came with a lot of learning for her. Genelia also mentions how Director Aleya Sen played an important role in showing exactly what she wanted from her character. As for the dialect, the actress had a few Bengali words to pick up, but since she was an Urban Bengali woman living in Delhi, the right dialect for her was actually Hinglish. The director also says how Genelia was always her first choice for the role.
