The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) has announced the much-awaited nominations for 2023. This award is one of the most reputed awards for Indian films outside Indian soil. This year, the festival proudly welcomes a new addition to its esteemed jury panel, the Oscar-winning Australian filmmaker Bruce Beresford, renowned for directing acclaimed films such as “Driving Miss Daisy” and “The Contract.” The special thing about these awards is that it has a finger on the pulse of the Indian film industry and the only film festival outside of India that is backed by the Indian government.

In the Best Film category, we have nominees like Monica, O My Darling, Brahmastra, Pathaan, Sita Ramamnamong the rest. As for the Best Actor nominees, we have names like Shah Rukh Khan for Pathaan, Rishab Shetty for Kantara, Vijay Varma for Darlings, Dulquer Salmaan for Sita Ramam to name a few. In the Best Actress category, we have Alia Bhatt for Darlings, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2, Neena Gupta for Vadh, and many more. The film festival also has the Best Series category with names like Dahaad, Farzi, Jubilee, Delhi Crime 2.

The winners of this film festival will be announced at the Gala which will take place on 11th August and is set to be hosted at the iconic Hamer Hall in Melbourne. Wishing all the nominees all the luck for this festival, may the most deserving win!
