One Piece is a live-action adaptation of an anime series that all fans have been raving about. The plot of this show revolves around a young pirate by the name of Monkey D. Luffy and his bunch of crew mates. While the series is all about sea explorations that are packed with adventures, it also revolves around Luffy wanting to become the next Pirate King, which can only be possible if he finds the legendary treasure ‘One Piece’ left behind by Gol D. Roger. The series is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by creator Eiichiro Oda, which has exceeded 106 volumes.

Now if you were one who did not understand the ending of this show, let me help you out with that! In Season 1 we saw Luffy gain rubber properties, by eating a Devil Fruit – ‘Gomu Gomu no Mi’ or ‘Gum Gum Fruit’. He then goes on to find some crewmates, who will then help him fight the two pirates on this sea adventure – Captain Kuro and Arlong. After the fight with Arlong, Garp, a Marine Vice-Admiral who is also Luffy’s Grandfather, attacks Luffy and his crew, only to make sure that they can survive on the grand line. Once he is assured, he then allows the ‘straw hat crew’ i.e. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp & Sanji to pursue their dreams, to set out on their mission to find the hidden treasure ‘One Piece’. Shortly after Luffy defeats Arlong, he gets the 30 million bounty on his head, the highest in all East Blue. The ending also teased a new character, Captain Smoker, who also has devil fruit powers, which we may see in the next season.
One Piece was released on Netflix exclusively, on the 31st of August. As of now, the show hasn’t been renewed for Season 2, but the fans are desperately hoping that it does. Keeping my fingers crossed for that!
