What a year it has been for the Indian Film Industry with some of the biggest blockbusters releasing this year, stealing the hearts of the audiences. Looks like it is that time of the year when films are picked to be sent as official entries from India. It has been said that the process has already begun in Chennai and there have been some names that have been considered so far.
As for the Hindi cinema, the films that are in the running for becoming an official entry are Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, Rani Mukerji’s Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Abhishek Bachchan’s Ghoomer and Kapil Sharma starrer Zwigato are among the 22 films so far to join the Oscar entry race. All of these films have left quite an impact on the audience, either in terms of entertainment value or in terms of a gripping storyline that touched the hearts of many. As per the report in Hindustan Times, there is a 17-member jury, which is headed by renowned director Girish Kasaravalli who is currently looking for a rang of films that vary from being good commercial, regional, as well as serious cinema from all over India.
