The world of cinema is replete with achievements, accolades, and honours, but some recognitions stand out as truly exceptional. Vivek Agnihotri, an Indian filmmaker, recently received an honour when the script of his film, ‘The Vaccine War,’ was invited by the Oscar Academy to be preserved in its library. This recognition only highlights Agnihotri’s contribution to filmmaking.

The Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences expressed their interest in keeping a copy of Agnihotri Vaccine War as a part of their Core Collection. The news came as a surprise to many as this collection consists of coveted cinema material that is made available exclusively for study, only within the library’s reading room. Agnihotri’s films have been loved by his core audience who enjoy the filmmaker’s art and work. Indian films like Lagaan, Kapil Sharma`s Zwigato, Action Replay, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Rock On were also approached for the same.

This bio-science film tells an important story to the world audience about Indian glory, and stars names like Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pallavi Joshi as lead characters. Produced by Pallavi Joshi and I Am Buddha, the film was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on 28th September 2023.
