The first episode of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ is finally here and there couldn’t have been a better way to kickstart this season. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were the first to grace the couch and there were some massive secrets dropped, a wedding video released and some heart-to-heart conversations. This episode was legit screaming fabulous!
Karan Johar started the episode with a warm welcome and a quirky mention of the guests for the evening, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who he addressed as RSDP (like RSVP, get it?). This was followed by a mind-blowing entry by Deepika and Ranveer, who were dressed to slay in black, clearly contributing to raising the October heat and how!
Ranveer proceeded to dive into details about how and when Deepika and he started dating during ‘Ram Leela’, how he planned out the most romantic proposal for the actress in Maldives, how they told their parents about each other and of course, a secret engagement; this build up was enough to get everyone be filled with excitement about the wedding video. YES! THEY DROPPED THE WEDDING VIDEO DURING THIS EPISODE… EEPSSS!
The wedding video just added this romantic sense of slow-mo to the multi-frequency levels that this KWK8 episode had. At the end of the video, Karan got super emotional and poured his heart out about yearning to experience a love like that. (Manifesting this for you, Karan!) Deepika followed this moment with some words of comfort with a dash of reality. This first episode also had some fun games and rapid fire (of course! no episode of ‘Koffee With Karan‘ is complete without this, it’s tradition now!).
It was truly wonderful to see this couple not only relive but also take everyone down through their memory lane. Ah! now all I await are the other episodes of this season and all the fab moments waiting to unfold. How excited are you for the next one?
