JP Dutta’s 1997 film ‘Border’ was an adaptation of real life events that happened during the Battle of Longewala in 1971. Set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, the film featured an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Tabu, Rakhee, Puneet Issar, Akshaye Khanna and Sudesh Berry. The reports of the sequel of the war film are making the internet rounds. This time around JP Dutta’s daughter, producer Nidhi Dutta is set to lead the film with Anurag Singh directing it.

The film is scheduled to go on floor in the first quarter of 2024, according to a report published in Mid-Day. Sunny Deol is set to lead the cast of the film once again. The sequel would be revisiting the 1971 India-Pakistan War and it will also showcase personal stories of the 1971 war heroes. But unlike the first part, which solely focused on the Army, the sequel will show the joint working of the Indian Air Force, Army and Navy, as per reports.

Sunny Deol was last seen in ‘Gadar 2’ opposite Ameesha Patel. The film emerged as the highest-grossing movie in Sunny Deol’s career and earned around ₹691 crores worldwide. The actor will next be seen in ‘Soorya’. Here’s hoping to see more of Sunny Deol’s action packed films in the year 2024!
