However, the film had already piqued the interest of Bollywood enthusiasts months prior, with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga sharing an intriguing revelation about Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan‘s reaction to the film’s teaser. In a recent revelation, Sandeep Reddy Vanga disclosed that he had shown the teaser of “Animal” to Shah Rukh Khan during the Ganpati festival, months before the film’s official release.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared that Shah Rukh Khan had the opportunity to view the Animal teaser during his visit, and the megastar expressed his appreciation for the content. Upon its release in December 2023, “Animal” garnered widespread attention for its intense narrative and stellar performances. The film, however, faced a dichotomy of responses from audiences and critics. While some lauded its bold storytelling and powerful character portrayals, others criticized it for allegedly endorsing toxic masculinity which I wholly believe it did—a theme associated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s previous works. Despite having met Shah Rukh Khan on two occasions, Sandeep Reddy Vanga clarified that the interactions did not extend to discussions about potential collaborations. However, the director expressed a genuine desire to work with SRK in the future.
