Kriti Sanon Opens Up On ‘Crew’ Success, Says “Film Doesn’t Have To Be Led By A Man”

Kriti Sanon is currently riding high on the success of her film ‘Crew’, which released on March 29, and within a span of 10 days, the film has already crossed the 100 crore mark in terms of worldwide box office collection. The Bollywood actress recently opened up about female-oriented films and how the landscape is changing when it comes to women-led projects.

As published in PTI, Kriti Sanon expressed her thoughts on female-centric films. “A film doesn’t have to be led by a man to pull the audience to the theatre. For the longest time, people have not taken the risk of scaling female-oriented films as they do for male-centric ones. They feel audiences won’t come to the theatre and they won’t recover the money,” Kriti Sanon shared. “This is sort of a start of a change, I am hoping, at least. Slowly, I hope people will come out and risk putting money and scaling a woman-led film as much as they do for male-led films because that also translates to the same amount of numbers at the box office,” Kriti Sanon added. I sort of agree with Kriti Sanon because her film ‘Mimi’ and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ serve as perfect examples of how female-led projects have the potential to be the biggest blockbusters.

Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon’s heist comedy film earned ₹10.28 crores at the box office on opening day in India and is set to have a lucrative collection in the coming days. Along with the lead trio’s spectacular performances,  ‘Crew’ also features some groovy tracks like ‘Naina’ and ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ so go watch this cinematic adventure in theaters today!
