The Modi Government has completed 11 Years, and in a brilliant marketing move – the government has been highlighting their work throughout India with various marketing mediums and approaches, which in all honesty have been fun to spot and read.
If you’ve been keeping up, we’ve already taken a look at some of their biggest achievements, the way in which they have impacted countless lives and how they have used unique marketing and showcase approaches like ‘sound of progress’ in previous articles – but today, we’re covering something we all notice everyday – traditional outdoor marketing approaches.
The campaign is centred around highlighting the 11 Years of history, progress and growth that has been made by the government to the Indian public – in a way that’s fun and easy to remember.
If you were to ask us why we loved this campaign and think it works so well? Simply because it uses daily life activities and relatable examples to showcase facts and figures.
Let’s get started and take a look at how these Marketing Activities were carried out throughout the biggest and busiest Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai, turning them into a canvas of development!
Progress Showcased Through A Takeover of Mumbai Metro
By putting up Metro panels, the government cleverly took advantage and grabbed the attention of travellers to highlight progress.
These panels were specifically tailored to the Metro setting as well, with comparisons being made with time taken to ‘travel between Dahisar East and Andheri East’ or the time taken ‘listening to 5 songs in your favourite playlist’.
Themes like scrolling social media, going through messages, untangling earphones – which are all possible situations in Metros, were also cleverly utilised.
All of these situations were compared to how much India accomplishes in such short periods of time – like disbursing ₹19 crore worth of Mudra loans, ₹110+ crore worth of UPI transactions, 13,000+ people receiving healthcare at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs & more.
Delhi’s Outdoors Filled With Signs of Development
There’s nothing that catches the attention of everyday audiences like a well-placed hoarding or billboard, especially when its written in Hindi.
The government’s biggest achievements were paired with bright visuals and relevant copy, showing how India has been a constant leader in various sectors – surpassing its own records, as well as other nations – all while making history since 11 Years.
These were placed throughout Delhi, in famous and busy areas like Jantar Mantar road, Connaught Place, Parliament Street and Jor Bagh Market.
Achievements covered included the ever-expanding Metro Network, Chandrayaan 3’s history making landing on Moon’s south pole, how there are more than 3 lakh lakhpati didis, 81 crore people have been provided free grains – and much more.
This was simple, effective and straight to the point traditional marketing done with good quality billboards.
Sequential Messaging Delivered Through The Busiest Roads & Highways
The cleverness of their marketing didn’t stop there – it expanded to expressways, highways and busy roads throughout Delhi – which were used to cleverly highlight facts such as our favorite one about how while ‘You wrap up your day, Bharat in 24 Hours, constructs 34 KM of highways.’ – aptly placed on the Delhi to Noida expressway.
These hoardings highlighted a sequential order of messaging – showcasing how in the same time that Indians are carrying out their daily activities, or even in the blink of an eye, the government is rapidly making progress in different sectors and ways.
This also goes to show that through the combined efforts of 11 Years, the speed of development projects has grown tremendously. And these too, are reflected through fun activities like hitting the gym, texting a friend,
A Picture Painted of The Past, Present and The Future by the Modi Government
As a whole, we think these efforts by the government go beyond the realms of being just ‘another marketing campaign’.
We believe that these hoardings, billboards, panels and even online marketing approaches – are a reminder to all of India. A reminder not only of how far we’ve come as a nation in the past 11 years, but of how far we’re going to go in the next one or two decades.
At this pace, things are looking good for the Modi Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat, which just might become a reality by 2047, or even quicker.
