Not only is it the superstar’s birthday, but it is also when the teaser for his next big project will be released: Dhurandhar. Dhurandhar is being directed by Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar and is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2025, combining high-octane espionage with patriotic themes.

According to multiple reports, the makers of Dhurandhar, Jio Studios in collaboration with Aditya Dhar, are planning a spectacular teaser drop to coincide with Ranveer Singh’s birthday. Described as a special birthday gift from the makers to Ranveer and his fans, the teaser will be the audience’s first official glimpse into the gritty, high-stakes world of the film.
A source close to the project revealed, “Aditya Dhar has locked a solid teaser to launch his ambitious directorial, Dhurandhar. It’s a birthday special unit that will introduce the world of this espionage to the cinema-going audience. The entire team is confident it will take the audience on a thrilling ride.”
Star-Studded Spy Thriller
Dhurandhar isn’t just riding on Ranveer Singh’s charisma. It has an ensemble cast that reads like a wish list for casting an outstanding movie. It has some powerful cast members: Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan, all defined as strong, author-backed roles. Clearly, it definitely packs a punch for what has been advertised as a unique spy thriller that is set predominantly in 1970s and 1980s Pakistan.
The teaser is designed to introduce the cast in their larger-than-life avatars and to give a taste of the world, the characters, and the story. We have all been fed enough leaked behind-the-scenes photos and videos that have already created a tremendous buzz about the film, and we have just enough to be curious but nowhere near too much that it fulfills it (spoiler alerts).

The film attempts to find the right balance of realism, political machination, spectacle a la cinema, and a gritty, reality-based directorial approach, as Dhar previously took in Uri.
Production Progress and Release Timeline
After approximately 75% of the movie shoot was completed, the production team was in preproduction on the second unit shoot with the aim of completing principal photography by September 2025, although there was no release date confirmed. But sources close to the project indicated the creators are planning for a theatrical release sometime between January and March 2026.
Considering everything that has gone into the detail and ambitious schedule of everything about Dhurandhar, only a blindcast would be surprised that the production team is entering into the shooting stage with a thorough sense of urgency and professionalism. Without question, every detail, from the casting and locations to political tones and action and special effects, was choreographed to a level of detail that will deliver an engaging film experience.
What’s Next for Ranveer Singh?
Ranveer Singh will not take a break once Dhurandhar has wrapped. He is expected to move straight into Don 3, Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated action franchise, in October 2025. Don 3 will wind up in 2026, and then Ranveer is set to join Jai Mehta’s untitled zombie film.
Based on Ranveer’s wide filmography, it’s reasonable to assume he is a flexible actor—from period thrillers and action blockbusters to experimental films.
