Karisma Kapoor was seen arriving in Mumbai with her children, Samaira and Kiaan, after attending the funeral of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, in New Delhi.
Videos from the private airport showed Karisma with her kids as she reunited with her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. The family shared a quiet, emotional moment in the waiting area. Kareena and Karisma were seen deep in conversation before heading to their cars.
Karisma stayed close to her children as they said their final goodbye to their father. Sunjay passed away on June 12 at the age of 53. The funeral took place on June 19 after his body was flown in from England.
Kareena stood by Karisma throughout the day. Photos from the funeral showed the sisters together, supporting each other during the difficult time.
While the exact cause of Sunjay’s death is still not confirmed, reports suggest he may have suffered a heart attack during a polo match. Some sources have linked it to a rare bee sting incident.
Karisma and Sunjay were married from 2003 to 2016. Even after their divorce, they continued to co-parent their children. Samaira and Kiaan also signed the official family statement released after his passing. The note mentioned that a prayer meet will be held on Sunday, June 22, from 4 to 5 PM at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
The prayer meet is expected to have close friends, family members, and people from both the business and film worlds.
