Salman Khan is set to deliver one of the most powerful and poignant performances of his career. The actor will start shooting for Galwan on the war drama of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash very soon. Based on the best-seller India’s Most Fearless, the high-octane action movie war drama will star Salman as an Indian Army officer. The shoot is proposed to commence in Ladakh by late July 2025, and will surely have something new and potent to offer to the screens.
Transforming for the Role: A New Look for Salman

For the project, Salman Khan is donning a completely different avatar. Much associated with his larger-than-life image and signature look, he’s now getting ready for a more realistic, down-to-earth character. The actor has already started training for a leaner body, abandoning his old bulking procedure. He’s also likely to have a crew cut, indicative of the real look of a military officer.
Sources have informed us that Salman is following a strict exercise routine and that he’s being very serious with his diet for the role. A look test is planned for early July, and this may also serve as the official reveal of the film. This action demonstrates how seriously he takes the character and the plot.
Filming Starts in Ladakh and Proceeds to Mumbai

Pre-production is currently in full swing. The film’s first schedule will be shot on real locations in Ladakh, aiming to capture the raw, emotional terrain where the real-life events unfolded. This schedule is expected to last around 25 days. Once the Ladakh leg wraps up, the team will shift to Mumbai for a longer studio-based schedule. Several high-octane action scenes will be recreated here with precision.
Carefully Selected Cast in the Works
Apart from Salman, Galwan will feature three other major characters. The castings for these roles are currently being done by the team and they are making every effort to cast actors with credibility and screen presence. Surprisingly, none of the characters are being cast to talent from Salman Khan Films.
Kabir Khan Collaboration on the Cards

After Galwan is completed, Salman will reportedly return to director Kabir Khan for a fresh new original feature film. The two previously presented audiences with the much-darling Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and their next one is already making a lot of noise.
Salman and Kabir have agreed on a new idea mutually, as per sources. Kabir is currently working on developing the story. Although there have been rumors of Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 from a while back, both Kabir and Salman prefer to first make a standalone movie before deciding on a sequel. Interestingly enough, there is a very strong likelihood that this new film will in some way relate to the ideas or essence of Galwan, but nothing has been formally announced yet.
A Turning Point in Salman Khan’s Career?

With Galwan, Salman is obviously entering graver waters. With his box office hits like commercial movies, he’s choosing to act in a story based on recent history, patriotism, and emotional courage. His choice of performing a film based on real events is out of character for him and suggests his experimentation with different genres.
Director Apoorva Lakhia, who has made raw and hard-hitting movies such as Shootout at Lokhandwala, will most probably give this story a hard-hitting and raw flavor. Blended with Salman’s stardom and intensity, this partnership can be a major contender.
Concluding remarks
Salman Khan’s upcoming film Galwan isn’t just about action it’s a powerful story. Lean body, real locations, good supporting cast, and an extremely talented director behind it, Galwan promises to mark the beginning of a new chapter for Salman a shift in his career that considers content over celebrity.
And with another film with Kabir Khan in the pipeline, fans can expect more soul-stirring and emotionally charged films from the star in the near future.
