A lot of rumors and gossip have surfaced when it comes to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s newest project, ‘Love and War,’ and recently, word got out that the movie will feature some of the biggest sequences in Bollywood history, showcasing epic face-offs between Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
Love & War Will Feature A Stacked Cast
It was confirmed when the film was first announced that it will feature a stacked cast consisting of three of Indian cinema’s biggest stars—Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal—who will be playing lead roles in the film. And considering it’s being made by a legendary filmmaker like Bhansali, it might be one of the most exciting and successful films of early 2026.
The film will have a vintage setting and feature a love triangle.
Bhansali’s newest cinematic venture will be set in the 1960s-1970s amidst a period of war and conflict, so fans can expect some bold sets and even bolder visuals. Another interesting element that was recently flying around was how the story will feature a dramatic love triangle, which audiences will find to be highly compelling.
The actors went through rigorous training and physical changes.
Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal have worked very hard to stay committed to their role of Air Force pilots, maintaining solid physiques to withstand high pressure and meet the demanding nature of flying.
Ranbir Kapoor shed 12 kg, while Vicky Kaushal dropped an impressive 15 kg, showcasing their dedication towards the role and towards the film.

Filming for Love & War started in November last year and is reportedly halfway completed.
The high-stakes sequences between Ranbir and Vicky are going to be shot as soon as next month, as Ranbir and Alia will be returning from their vacation and the production crew will also be finishing up on some epic sets to meet the demands of Bhansali’s epic shooting style.
As for Alia Bhatt, the filmmaker has some energetic scenes planned for October and November, which will serve as key elements of the film.
While a lot of the filming is taking place domestically, there’s an international filming schedule planned as well in Europe, which will reportedly take place post-October.
With everything going as planned, Bhansali will be able to call it a wrap on the filming by the end of 2025. That being said, the film is currently on track with and aims for a March 2026 release—after it postponed its initial release date of Christmas 2025.
