Coolie Box Office: Rajinikanth Film Crosses ₹400 Cr Worldwide

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, has stormed past the Rs 400 crore global mark, yet its rapid early success is slowing down.

Coolie’s Opening Week: A Rollercoaster Ride

Coolie kicked off with a thunderous opening, crossing the Rs 200 crore mark domestically despite a sharp 65% drop on its first Monday. The film’s worldwide haul has now comfortably topped Rs 400 crore, nearing, or potentially exceeding, the upper estimates of its Rs 350–400 crore production budget.

Dip in Day 6 Numbers

Coolie Box Office: Rajinikanth Film Crosses ₹400 Cr Worldwide

On Day 6 (Tuesday), India’s earnings slipped further to around Rs 9.5 crore, down from Rs 12 crore on Monday, marking a steady decline in daily collections. Tamil Nadu continues to lead in revenue, while the Hindi-dubbed version has been holding up well. However, collections in Karnataka and the Telugu-speaking states remain relatively muted.

Coolie Box Office: Rajinikanth Film Crosses ₹400 Cr Worldwide

Despite the slowdown, Coolie became one of the fastest films to reach Rs 100 crore in Tamil Nadu. Across India, its first-week collection is estimated at around Rs 260–263 crore, though analysts believe the film may struggle to touch Rs 300 crore domestically if the current trend continues.

In the global race, though, Coolie clearly has the edge. Its Rs 400 crore-plus worldwide tally puts it ahead of Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2, which is likely to wrap up under Rs 350 crore. Still, Coolie has not been able to sustain the kind of momentum Rajinikanth’s Jailer enjoyed in 2023, which went on to gross more than Rs 600 crore worldwide.
