Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release, Jolly LLB 3, has run into legal trouble just days after its teaser was unveiled. A Pune Civil Court has summoned Akshay Kumar and co-star Arshad Warsi following a petition alleging that the teaser disrespects the judiciary and portrays lawyers in a negative light.
Petition Filed Against Jolly LLB 3
Advocates Wajed Khan (Bidkar) and Ganesh Mhaskhe moved the petition, claiming that the teaser mocks the legal profession. The petition seeks a ban on the film, alleging that it insults the judiciary and misrepresents lawyers. The court has issued notices to Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, asking them to appear on August 28, 2025.
Jolly LLB 3 Faces Allegations of Mockery
A report by ETV Bharat quoted advocate Bidkar saying, “The teaser of the film Jolly LLB 3 has been released, and actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi have promoted it by wearing lawyers’ bands. Due to this, the image of lawyers has been tarnished through electronic media, and the legal profession has been insulted in the film.”
In another interview with India Today, Wajed Khan added, “In this film, all lawyers refer to judges as ‘Mamu.’ This is an insult to the judiciary.” The petitioners also argued that the courtroom sequences are shown more like family quarrels than legal proceedings, calling it an offensive depiction, even if intended as satire.
Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi Summoned, Makers Silent
The civil court has directed Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and director Subhash Kapoor to be present on August 28 at 11 a.m. So far, neither the actors nor the makers have responded to the summons.
Jolly LLB 3 is slated for release on September 19, 2025. The film will see Akshay Kumar return as Jagadishwar Mishra and Arshad Warsi as Jagdish Tyagi. Actor Saurabh Shukla will also return as the beloved Judge Sunderlal Tripathi.
