Seeing his son step into the world of filmmaking was an emotional milestone for Shah Rukh Khan. On August 20, the preview of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba**ds Of Bollywood, was unveiled in Mumbai. The event saw the presence of Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, who are also producers of the show. SRK not only attended but also hosted the launch, making it a family affair.
SRK Expresses Gratitude Before the Launch
Before the event began, Shah Rukh Khan bowed down and touched the stage, a gesture of gratitude that set the tone for the evening. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Main bahut bahut shukraguzaar hoon, genuinely, iss Mumbai ki paavan dharti ka, Maharashtra ki, iss poore desh ki mitti ka, jisne mujhe 30 saal tak ye mauka diya ki main aap logon ko entertain karne ki koshish kar sakoon. Aur aaj bahut special day kyunki issi paavan dharti par mera beta bhi apna pehla kadam rakh raha hai.”
He explained that the act was his way of expressing thankfulness for the love and opportunities he has received over three decades, now witnessing his son’s first step into the industry.
A Father’s Advice to Aryan Khan
Before inviting Aryan on stage, Shah Rukh shared heartfelt advice and pride in his son’s hard work. “He is very hardworking because we’ve taught him only a couple of things at home: that there’s no guarantee of box office success and there’s no guarantee that critics will give positive reviews, but when you work hard, there’s a full guarantee,” he said.
He added that while applause would be welcome, what Aryan needs most is the audience’s blessings and prayers: “The amount of love that you all have given to me, if you can give even 10 to 150% of that, then just give it all to him.”

The series, directed by Aryan Khan, is set to premiere on Netflix on September 18, 2025. The star-studded cast features Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, and Vijayant Kohli. The preview also showcased quirky cameos from Salman Khan, Karan Johar, and Ranveer Singh, adding a touch of star power to Aryan’s much-awaited debut.
